1. Practice your notes
Practicing your notes on the1st two strings. You will know if you don't know a note as it will sound very wrong.
2. Alternating your fingers
Always alternate your fingers on the right hand. Practice rest and free stroke.

A = Changes are smooth (The rhythm is even)
All notes are clear and correct
Correct right and left hand fingering (left hand thumb in good position on back of the neck)
Excellent right hand technique
Excellent musical sound
B = Changes are a bit slow and sloppy (The rhythm is a bit uneven in hard parts)
A couple of wrong notes (1-2 wrong notes)
Bit sloppy right hand technique (resting fingers/ or hand on body of guitar)
Very good musical sound
C+ = Changes are slow (time between the notes through out the piece)
Some wrong notes (3-5)
Mistakes in fingerings (not using proper fingers on the fret board)

C = Very sloppy and slow changes (Piece rhythm uneven)
Many wrong notes (5-10)
Many mistakes with left hand fingerings (Not using proper fingers or only using 1 finger to play piece)

C- = Very slow and broken up changes (piece’s rhythm is very uneven)
Wrong notes everywhere (10 + mistakes, student does not know piece)
