1. Accidentals:

    An accidental is a sharp, flat or a natural sign. The composed either wants to add a note outside the key signature or change the sound a little.

   There are 3 accidentals

   # or a sharp sign - Raise the note one semi-tone or move one fret on guitar to the body.

   b or a flat sign - Lower the note one semi-tone or move one fret to the headstock

   or a natural sign (don't have on keyboard). This negates the sharp or the flat sign and play the note as if there were no signs.

2. Key Signature

   The Key signature is located just after the treble clef and before the time signature (referr to the music). The accidentals in this section change the notes (only the note that has a sharp or flat) throughout the piece. For example in 42. G major scale, you will see a F# in the key signature. This means you change all F's to F#'s. It does not matter where the F is located in the music it will be an F#.
